If you have been told to solve for x, then the here is how to solve this equation:
First Remove the Parentheses:[tex]2x+3-x[/tex]
Next you must group like terms: [tex]2x-x=1x\ or\ x[/tex]
Leaving you with [tex]x+3=0[/tex] so now you must subtract 3 from both sides to have x by its self. So this way the answer would be [tex]x=-3[/tex].
If I have assumed wrong please let me know and I promise to come back and rework my math. Thanks :-)
