In mathematics a zero matrix or null matrix is a matrix all of whose entries are zero.

For example, the matrix

[tex]\left[\begin{array}{cc}0&0\\0&0\end{array}\right][/tex]

is square matrix of dimension 2 and

the matrix

[tex]\left[\begin{array}{ccc}0&0&0\\0&0&0\end{array}\right][/tex]

is rerctangular matrix of dimension 2×3.
