What happens when a star dies?
While the helium fuel runs out, the center will extend and be funky. The top layers will expand and eject material in an effort to accumulate across the demise star to form a planetary nebula. Sooner or later, the center will cool right into a white dwarf and then in the end into a black dwarf. This complete system will take some billion years.
The three types of star deaths are given below.
- Low-Mass Stars (0.5 solar mass or less)
- Medium-Mass Stars (0.5 solar mass to 3.0 solar mass)
- Massive Stars (3.0 solar masses or larger)
