Personally, I'd rather have my mother stay alive than my sibling. To begin, there's a high chance that the mother is still able to bear children. Next, seeming as the mother is in critical condition, it's likely that the sibling could be born with a defect, or multiple. And lastly, if the mother were to die, it would be difficult to raise the sibling with the limited experience with parenthood that I have. So, to conclude, I would rather my mother continue to live than my sibling.

I would say the sibling, the mother has already had her life and created a new generation in the family. Apart from yourself, the sibling being born is the only hope to continue the generations in the family.
