In general terms, in Latin America the matricentiated family is one of the most common family structures, a model under which 80% or more of the population lives, made up of the woman-mother and children. Therefore, the mother is the truly central figure in both aspects of the lives of Venezuelans. This scheme prevails in almost the entire region.
