In places like the North and South Pole, there are 6 months of continuous sunlight during parts of the year. However, it never gets hot or even very warm in these places. Can you explain this phenomenon?

The North and South poles are either closer or farther away from the sun at any given point thanks to the Earth's natural tilt. This allows for direct sunlight, but no heat as you're farther away. That's the way I learned it.
