We can double check by plugging in 26 back into x [tex]\frac{26}{2} + 10 =26-3 \\ 13+10 = 23\\ 23 = 23 [/tex]

And it works out!
x/2+10=x−3
1/2x+10=x−3
1/2x+10−x= x−3−x−1/2x+10=−3
−1/2x+10−10=−3−10−1/2x=−13
(2/−1)x(−1/2x)=(2/−1)x(−13)x=26
