Starch is found in foods such as peas, corn, and potatoes. For the body to receive energy from starch, it is broken down into smaller units. A mutation occurs in the gene that codes for a protein that breaks down starch.In which case will the mutation be harmful?

This mutation would be harmful for the body because, when not able to break down the starch and use it for energy, the body will begin to have starch buildup and not be able to do anything with it. It would continue to build up and do some serious damage everytime someone who has this mutated gene eats food rich in starch.
