The difference between needs and wants can be described like so... a need is something that you can't live without, and a want is something that you could live without, but would prefer not to.

For example, you could want to drink soda, but you don't need to. Water, on the other hand, is different. You absolutely need water to survive.

A few things that family members need are; a nice environment, (preferably a home), food, water, and supplies to keep you warm.
