The equation of a line is in the form:
y = mx + c
Parallel lines have the same gradient.
Therefore, y = -3/2x + c
To work out c, we simply substitute the x value coordinate and the y value coordinate into the equation.
So, -4 = -3/2(0) + c
-4 = 0 + c
c = -4
A line parallel to y = -3/2x + 1 would be:
y = -3/2x - 4
