Jesse is putting a ribbon around a square frame . He uses 24 inches of ribbon . How long is each side of the frame ?

for a square, the perimeter is the sum of all 4 side length
P= s+s+s+s = 4s

since 24 in of ribbon should go completely around the edge of the frame, it is our perimeter, thus
