The medulla oblongata takes control of the respiratory system. It detects carbon dioxide and oxygen. Furthermore, it judges the changes that have to be made. A possible action that the medulla oblongata may take is sending nerve signals to the diaphragm and the heart.
The medulla oblongata controls the system for breathing. It detects Carbon and Oxygen levels and can tell nerves, muscle, and the heart to either speed up or slow down.
