what features are unique to prokaryotes which thereby require them to perform a reproductive process separate from mitosis?

Respuesta :

Some primary differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is that prokaryotes do not have a an organized nucleus, nor do they have membrane-bound organelles. They also only possess a single chromosome. This makes them less complex than eurkaryotes, and thus prokaryotes perform binary fission instead of mitosis.
