After the American Civil War, the Buffalo soldiers served on the Western frontier, after being formed in 1866 in Forth Leavenworth, Kansas.  They were black men of the Ninth and Tenth Cavalries fought with determination and bravery to repel Indian attacks. After them, two more regiments were formed under the same name: the 24th Infantry Regiment and the 25th Infantry Regiment.
