Catalysts of biochemical reactions are enzymes and are responsible for bringing about almost all of the chemical reactions in living organisms.the reaction starts at a particular temperature and pH and so there is a need of catalyst to enhance the rate of reaction and lower down the energy required for the reaction i.e lowering the threshold  energy .
